Brits spend £2billion on home office gear

UK professionals working from the comfort of their own home during the coronavirus lockdown have spent almost £2billion on new equipment.

This is according to a survey of 2,004 adults shared by Uswitch.com, which discovered that Brits have purchased new desks, laptops, printers and other work items as they transform their spare bedrooms, dining rooms and living rooms into makeshift offices, reports the Daily Mail.

Of the more than 18million employees who are working from home, more than two-fifths (around seven million) have spent an estimated £233 each, while half a million have forked out more than £500.

The results were part of a poll that asked office workers whether they had to spend more to prepare their homes for lockdown.
