Actively promoting employee recognition has been known to improve productivity and morale, with various studies indicating the several benefits it can bring to a business.

For example, a study previously carried out by Gallup supports this. The research discovered that employees who receive regular recognition not only display increased productivity levels, but that it also boosts their engagement with co-workers, are more likely to stay at the business and will have better safety records on the job.

Similarly, research by Deloitte found that employee engagement and performance are 14% higher in organisations with a recognition programme. Despite this, only 60% of businesses build recognition into business goals.

It’s clear from these statistics that employee recognition can in fact be the key to building a more successful and pro-active workforce, however, with so many employees now working from home amid the coronavirus crisis, how can employers and HR ensure they are still delivering the same levels of recognition remotely?
