Maintaining a professional persona within the workplace is essential.
When the barrier between a casual tone and professionalism breaks down, employees can set a poor example to bosses and colleagues and this could ultimately lead to a lapse in standards within the company.
However, this doesn’t mean that employees are expected to be a robot. Blurting out the same practised range of clichéd phrases incessantly is extremely off-putting, and will no doubt leave colleagues feeling unmotivated to listen to what employees have to say.
Unfortunately, the same old corporate buzzwords appear time and time again in meetings, emails and speeches, infuriating staff who have had to put up with hearing their boss say ‘bandwidth’ for the umpteenth time that day.
