While many employees will be pleased at the thought of working from their homes for the foreseeable future, it doesn’t necessarily have the same equipment an office does.

From an ergonomic desk and office chair, to the strength of the wifi, all of these factors can have a huge impact on an individual’s wellbeing and productivity.

As such, Google has announced it will reimburse employees at the firm up to $1,000 (£814) to pay for equipment to help them work from home, reported CNBC.

CEO Sundar Pichai wrote to employees on Tuesday informing them of the reimbursement, adding that the company will also be slowly reopening its offices starting by rotating employees through offices at 10% capacity on July 6. This will be increased to around 30% capacity in September.
