PODCAST | How HR can support lockdown mental health

How HR can support lockdown mental health

This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week: a time to raise awareness of those living with mental health issues and to create conversations around the subject that will help to break down the stigma that so many face. While it is an important issue, previous research has found a stark disconnect between employee demand for mental health support and the execution from employers. A 2019 Leading in Digital Age report published by City & Guilds Group found that 94% of workers said they considered psychological safety to be important, yet just ten per cent of businesses treated it as a priority.

In this week’s podcast, HR Grapevine’s Online Editor, Sophie Parrott, sits down with Executive Grapevine Digital Media’s Head of Content, Dan Cave, to discuss the importance of mental health support in the (virtual) workplace. The pair also share tips for supporting those employees who feel isolated when working from home, the different triggers of burnout and what HR can do to curb it, as well as how to go about balancing personal and professional commitments.

HR Grapevine's Virtual Event: HR Technology takes place on 1st & 2nd July 2020. You can view the full agenda here or register for free by filling out the form below.
