While flexible working has become the norm for many employees, some businesses are still reluctant to let their staff to work from the comfort of their own home out of fear they will slack off or not be as productive as they would be in the workplace.
However, the current coronavirus pandemic has forced employers to trust their staff, after the UK PM advised that all employees should work from home where possible in order to help prevent the spread of the virus.
With that, organisations up and down the UK had to shut their office doors and ask their staff to work remotely to carry out their regular day-to-day tasks. But it seems some managers are still finding it difficult to believe that their team members will be able to do so.
In a post shared by The Cut, one worker who is based at a small company of about ten employees has retold their story about their CEO, simply referred to as 'Phil', who feels this way. The employee shared that ‘Phil is being odd when it comes to working from home’, despite the fact that 95% of work can be done remotely.
