Back-to-work | Immunity passports could cause fraud and discrimination

Proposed ‘immunity certificates’ could lead to discrimination and fraud – with BAME workers in the potential firing line for being checked – a leading management expert has claimed. 

Immunity passports, which the UK Government has discussed as one way of getting people who have recovered from COVID-19 back to work, are widely perceived to be controversial. 

Previously, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned against ‘immunity passports’ as there is currently no evidence that people recovered from COVID-19 have immunity. 

In addition, Edgar Whitley, Associate Professor from London School of Economics’ Department of Management said the passports could create a two-tiered society.
