Microsoft, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Domino’s are just some of the employers ramping up UK hiring efforts amid the coronavirus lockdown, new Glassdoor research has found.
This news comes despite a “deep slowdown” in the UK jobs market that has seen a 40% slump in the number of job vacancies since March due to lockdown measures, according to a Sky News report.
Industries and organisations that rely on physical contact with customers are said to be worse affected by a decline in job adverts, according to Indeed data.
In an interview with Sky News, Jack Kennedy, an Economist at Indeed, said that since the Government ‘pressed pause’ on the economy due to COVID-19 fears, the jobs market has been on “rewind”.
