Worker wins £20k payout after being told to pick up dog poo

A Muslim worker, who claims she was forced to pick up dog poo by her boss, has been awarded more than £20,000 after an employment tribunal ruled that she was the victim of religious discrimination – the Daily Mail reported.

An employment tribunal ruled that hairdresser, Tonie Bond – who began working at the ‘Lads and Dads’ barber shop in 2016 – was made to carry out menial tasks outside of her daily job within six months of starting because she was Muslim.

A tribunal heard that, at some point, her boss Leanne Large discovered that she was Muslim.

The Daily Mail reported that a customer told the panel that in 2017: “Ms Large said that she 'had recently learned that Tonie was a Muslim and that she couldn't have that'.”
