The role of HR has never seemed more important than it is today during the coronavirus outbreak.

Tasked with managing the people in a business, the HR team will be working closely with executives to manage talent now and for the future.

This importance was recently echoed by Unilever’s Vice President of HR Africa. Mechell Chetty, incumbent in the role, wrote in a LinkedIn post: “The role of the HR professional has never been more important than it is today.”

She added that during this uncertain time, every morning when she wakes up, she asks herself three questions to ascertain whether she is doing enough for the business and its people.
