The coronavirus pandemic has forced millions of people to work from home to prevent the spread of the virus.

To facilitate business as usual and stay connected with colleagues and clients, employees have turned to messaging platforms and video conferencing apps to host regular meetings and catch-ups with one another.

Even though employees will be continuing to work at home – and be participating in the same number of meetings that they would normally in an office environment – some bosses don’t have the confidence that staff are performing to a high level because they aren’t physically visible.

As a result, Vox reported that some employers have installed tracking software on employee computers so that they can virtually supervise the output and efforts of their staff.
