'In meetings I'm just a bum on the seat'

In an organisation, team meetings play an important part in building a team and help them to achieve the team’s objectives.

Allowing individuals to pitch new ideas to the team, and for the team as a whole to reflect on their progress and help one another, will not only boost collective productivity levels, but it will also positively influence business performance too.

Yet, a frustrated employee took to the online forum Mumsnet claiming that she regularly feels “shot down” in meetings and she is merely a “bum on the seat”.

User SetbacksSetMeUp wrote on the forum that over the last few years she had “ping ponged from job to job” but was finally starting to feel that she fit in at her current place of work – but certain behaviours expressed by colleagues made her question her own conduct.
