Sensitivity training for Prada staff after racism incident

D&I is a hot topic for HR. Not just for cultivating a good employee experience but D&I is also crucial for those firms wanting to attract and retain loyal consumers too - as numerous studies have indicated.

One firm set to introduce training to educate employees and mitigate potential D&I problems going forwards is Prada.

As part of a signed deal with the New York City Commission on Human Rights, both Prada staff in New York and the firm’s chief designer Miuccia Prada will receive educational ‘sensitivity training’ following allegations of racism against the label.

The news comes after the luxury brand was publicly scrutinised after displaying poorly-considered figurines that resembled monkeys “in blackface” which were displayed outside a New York store in 2018.
