Absence | M&S employee fired for 'taking too many sick days'

A former M&S employee has alleged that she was fired for 'taking too much time off work' when she suffered from a string of injuries including a sick bug, dental problems, and a trapped nerve – The Mirror reported.

Natalie Dalziel, who was employed by M&S from 2016 as a permanent part-time employee, claimed that she was struck down by these illnesses over an eight-month period and described her sacking as a ‘kick in the teeth’.

She claimed that she was let go after taking nine days off for root canal surgery.

She said: “I’ve always worked hard and feel like I’ve been kicked in the teeth. I appealed the decision and lost that.
