Breast-pumping can be a stressful time for working mums. Additionally, experiencing long periods of separation from your baby for the first time can add to the pressure too.
Yet, one mum’s stress was heightened after her boss asked her to sign a ‘lactation agreement’ to determine the time of day that she would pump and how long it would take – Working Mother reported.
In a LinkedIn post, Lindsey Ivie, Director of strategic partnerships at an IT consultancy, explained that a member of a working mum’s group on Facebook that she was part of, posted about a ‘lactation agreement’ that she was asked to sign.
In the post, Ivie wrote: “In the agreement they asked what time of day she would pump and how long she would take. They said she had to use her two 15-minute breaks for her first pumping session and clock out for the second and third.”
