Microsoft & PayPal give working parents the ultimate festive gift

It’s traditional over the holiday period for companies to thank their employees for a year of hard work with some form of gift or benefit.

For some employees, this means paid holiday over Christmas, a work Christmas party, a bonus or even some form of corporate gift. However, in the case of tech giants Microsoft and PayPal, the companies have chosen to give their employees the gift of childcare.

The digital payments giant and the largest software company in the world have joined forces with a supplier of employer-sponsored childcare to hire and pay for babysitters and childcare specialists to aide working parents over the busy period, and ensure that their children are cared for over the holidays.

The concept reportedly came about after a significant number of employees from both companies were forced to turn down invitations to the companies’ Christmas parties, citing childcare as the main challenge.
