New research has found that less than half (44%) of employers offer education or counselling to help employees make better-informed choices about their finances.
The study of 2,000 Brits conducted by Zellis revealed a pressing need for better financial education given that 58% of workers don’t fully understand their payslips and only 24% look at their statements after each payday.
John Petter, CEO of Zellis, said that the best organisations create a modern and cohesive experience for employees “with financial literacy and wellbeing at the heart of it”.
“There is a real need to focus on the basics of helping colleagues understand the true value of their employment package, including their payslips, workplace benefits, and pension options, as the evidence suggests a need to significantly improve awareness. Organisations that get this right will enjoy better hiring, retention and performance – as well as happier colleagues.”
