Colleague reported to HR for 'chewing too loudly'

For most employees, grazing throughout the day on a multi-grain bar or tucking into a piece of homemade cake will help them stay focused, refreshed and alert - and also gives them something to look forward to.

But not only that, it is scientifically proven that feeling full directly correlates with increased energy and alertness – so there is a business benefit to employees being fed and watered throughout the day.

Yet, one employee took to Twitter to explain that a disgruntled colleague actually reported her to HR for “chewing too loudly” – and kept a food diary as evidence of how the employee’s snack patterns were hampering workplace productivity.

The social media user explained that, given that the company culture is food-orientated, she has a stash of snacks and drinks provided by the company that she grazes on throughout the day.
