HR slammed for shunning candidates in poor rec process

Over the years the resourcing department has evolved in line with emerging technologies, which has led HR to gradually become more reliant on automation and software to recruit new employees.

However, has HR become so reliant on the latest tech that it has forgotten the importance of human touchpoints within the hiring process?

This is something that Twitter user @TheWrongNoel recently pointed to, after sharing a thread informing other users about a situation where their friend discovered that the HR team had adopted ‘screening software that asks a bunch of random questions that applicants must answer quickly, the results of which determine a suitability score. Only those deemed suitable are sent through to the department for interview’.

Once the test was completed it showed a high degree of scientific accuracy on whether the jobseeker was suitable, providing scores on self-confidence, a caring nature and respect for authority.
