Boss allegedly fired employee after HIV diagnosis

Throughout the course of an employee’s career, it is possible that they may have been treated unfairly at work, given less opportunity to climb the corporate ladder or discriminated against for one reason or another.

A recent case of alleged discrimination to hit headlines was about a worker who claimed that he was fired for being HIV positive and is now suing his employer – The Sun reported.

Numerous reports indicated that shortly after his medical diagnosis, the employee asked his manager to sign a form that would allow him to receive medication from a state programme, according to a lawsuit obtained by CNN.

Yet, shortly after, it was claimed that the worker was relocated to another area and given different shift patterns which would have clashed with “family commitments”, the complaint stated.
