Worker sacked for inability to use tech

With the employment landscape rapidly changing, it is important that HR regularly upskill their workers to ensure that they have the right skills and knowledge to complete their jobs on a daily basis. If workers are showing glaring knowledge gaps, it is HR’s responsibility to plug those skills and knowledge holes.

Yet, a loyal elderly NHS worker, who was sacked because of an inability to use tech, has successfully sued a hospital for age discrimination – The Sun reported.

Eileen Jolly was removed from Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading in January 2017 for failing to use a computer system correctly.

An employment tribunal in Reading heard that managers had made spiteful comments about her “old secretarial ways” – The Daily Mail reported.
