Getting to the train station and finding out your train is delayed or cancelled, or jumping in your car in the morning to drive to work, only to find out a major road has been closed, is every commuter’s worst nightmare.
Today it seems workers in London using the tube have had to face similar struggles. During rush hour this morning Extinction Rebellion activists climbed on top of several trains at Stratford, Canning Town and Shadwell bringing trains to a standstill.
Videos have since emerged capturing the frustration of commuters, while others were left concerned about how they would make it in to work, as one commuter shouted at the protesters: "I have to get to work too – I have to feed my kids."
Extinction Rebellion said that the disruption was ‘necessary to highlight the emergency’.
