Sexism | Do you live in the UK city with the worst gender pay gap?

New research has revealed Hereford, Aberdeen and Cambridge as the UK cities with the biggest gender pay gaps.

The study, which was conducted in October 2019 by job search engine Adzuna, analysed more than 770,000 CVs using the ValueMyCV tool to find out the average earning potentials of both men women, shining a light on those UK cities with the largest gender pay divides.

The research revealed that men typically earn more than female counterparts. This is particularly evident in Hereford where men earn an average of £37,035 compared with female earnings of £25,056.

Doug Monro, Co-Founder of Adzuna, explained that gender pay discrimination is still a dominant issue in the UK. “It is disappointing to still find such disparity between regions and cities within the UK. It’s particularly unacceptable to say that the city with the smallest gender pay gap across the whole country still sees women earning 18% less than men.”
