Earlier this year, HR Grapevine reported on an ex-senior employee at Robert De Niro’s film production firm, Canal Productions, who was sued £4.9million by her former employer for “wasting astronomical amounts of time” binge-watching Netflix whilst at work.
Graham Chase Robinson, who previously served as the Vice President of Production, allegedly watched 55 episodes of the American sitcom Friends in a four-day stint among other shows during work hours.
The initial lawsuit stated that: “Watching shows on Netflix was not in any way part of or related to the duties and responsibilities of Robinson’s employment, and on information and belief, was done for her personal entertainment, amusement and pleasure at times when she was being paid to work.”

Yet, Robinson denied the claims outlined in her lawsuit.
