3 in 5 Millennials think 'work perks' are gimmicks

When trying to attract candidates, it’s not unusual to see employers and recruiters list the number of work perks and benefits available to successful job hopefuls.

Whether this is unlimited holiday leave, flexible working, ping pong tables in the office or the choice to bring a pet in, these work perks were once a key deciding factor when it came to a job application for an individual.

A recent CV-Library study also revealed that 84.9% of UK professionals recognise that perks are important at work, however, it seems the tides are starting to turn. In fact, new research from app start-up Seatfrog has discovered that today’s younger workforce is no longer fussed by fun work perks when taking on a new role.

While table tennis, unlimited snacks and free alcohol used to be the go-to when it came to attracting top talent, three in five Millennials have revealed that they are now dismissing perks that have become more of a ‘gimmick’.
