Employees fear for future career after stint at toxic firm

Many employees may have had to endure an arduous time with a previous employer, where the culture was toxic or where the CEO was outed for their unprofessional behaviour. However, can this previous employment history reflect badly on a jobseeker?

Some WeWork employees have shared their concerns that their stint with the firm will scupper their chances of securing future employment.

According to New York Magazine, staff members are worried that having the company name on their CV might act as a ‘black mark against them’ following the recently postponed IPO and the departure of CEO Adam Neumann.

Getting to work for WeWork, an American real estate and rented co-working business, was previously considered a CV highlight, however after recent reports outlined its toxic work culture, it now seems that employees are nervous that working for the business could actually go against them when they start to look for new opportunities.
