Exec questions the 'resilience' of employment market

UK employment is continuing to enjoy its buoyancy as The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed that it is at its joint-highest on record since comparable records at 76.1%.

According to the UK statistics authority, the UK unemployment rate was estimated at 3.8%, lower than a year earlier at (4.0%) and unchanged on the quarter.

Estimates reveal that for May to July 2019, 32.78million people aged 16 and over were in employment – 369,000 more than for the year earlier.

When broken down into genders, figures are also on the rise. For example, the estimated rate for men was 80.2%, which is up by 0.1% on the year but down 0.1% on the quarter.
