Meeting up in a hotel room to conduct a job interview isn’t unheard of in some industry sectors.
An employer may be in the process of moving sites and therefore has no fixed office to carry out an interview, or the hiring manager may be travelling across the country to meet with potential new candidates to employ.
This is interviewing technique corroborated by Jeff Acevedo, Ortho Care Team Leader, who wrote on LinkedIn: “As a manager whom works remotely, I have used a similar model when interviewing. As I work from a home office, the best option I’ve found is to book a hotel (like a Residence Inn) that has a separate living space.”
While this may be the case, the thought of a candidate heading to room 101 in a city hotel may raise a few eyebrows.
