Whether it’s turning up late, playing on a mobile phone or knowing nothing about the role, bad candidate etiquette can leave a sour taste in a hiring manager’s mouth during a job interview.
So much so, that these poor manners can cost candidates the dream job they are applying for.
While these actions may seem like common sense to avoid, it seems that applicants continue to make terrible mistakes during their job interviews, leaving the interviewers feeling infuriated. In fact, 79.3% of employers have admitted to feeling irritated by a candidate’s actions when conducting an interview.
A study by CV-Library, which surveyed over 300 UK employers, found that just 9.7% of employers have gone on to hire the candidate in question.
