As the UK Government prepares for its departure from the European Union (EU) on October 31 2019, it seems that all hands are on deck to ensure that Britain leaves as smoothly as possible.
With many rebel MPs joining forces to stop the UK leaving the EU without a deal in place, the Prime Minister’s senior aide, Dominic Cummings, has revealed that those who help to prepare for no-deal would be given a cash bonus.
Cummings previously told advisers that Brexit was a main priority for the Government, despite plans to call for an election, he said that he would ‘hand out cash bonuses to the people in this room who did the best job of preparing for no-deal’, The Times reported.
He went on to explain that civil service bosses “will probably tell me that is illegal — but I don’t care”.
