Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is a hot topic in the world of HR for many reasons. Not only does cultural diversity and a diversity of thought create a more harmonious working environment that allows employees to thrive, employers can benefit from higher innovation, better decision-making and increased profits. So, it is a virtuous cycle.
It is one thing for employers to prioritise diversity but for it to have a marked effect, employees need to feel included and valued within a team. But sadly, this is not always the case for employees.
