New research conducted by Gov.uk has found that employers are struggling to fill more than one-third of roles due to a severe lack of digital skills among applicants. Although the evidence does suggest that the UK has a strong digitally enabled workforce, the digital shortage is evident across the country.
The study states that 53% of employees lack the essential digital skills needed for work, whilst last year alone, 1.8million more people were found to have the highest level of digital capability.
