Kate and William recruit for HR position

Getting the chance to see what really goes on behind the closed doors of St James’s Palace is something most Brits would jump at the chance to, and it seems one lucky candidate may get that opportunity.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (William and Kate), as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall (Charles and Camilla), are currently on the lookout for an HR advisor, the Mirror reported.

While no salary has been revealed, by the looks of it, the maternity cover role looks extremely full-on. The job ad reads: “The role will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle and provide an exceptional HR generalist service to the organisation, including benefits, recruitment and HR reporting.

“Technical knowledge and experience of HR systems are also required for this appointment.”

Of course, working within the royal household will mean that ultimate discretion is essential, which has been outlined within the job description: “Discretion and confidentiality are critical within this appointment.”

While these elements are crucial for the new HR advisor, applicants must also be pro-active, self-motivated with plenty of initiative, have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

"Applicants must have demonstrable generalist / operational HR experience with an emphasis on employee relations and management coaching,” the job advert stated.

How can HR help Kate and 'Wills'?

With a vast range of staff members working across a number of teams, from nannies and diary co-ordinators, to social media managers, employing an HR adviser will ensure that both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall are following best practice when it comes to caring for their employees.

Being in the know of current trends and developments within the HR space is imperative. The Royals must have an understanding of being how to become an employer of choice, whether that is offering staff members the opportunity to upskill themselves, offering fair pay and holiday allowances or flexible working, their new HR advisor will be able to take the reins and shed some light on these important topics.

In addition, the HR advisor will also be a vital member of the team to help scout and recruit new talent for the Royal household, to contribute to the continued expansion of its workforce.
