A star-studded restauranteur and former Government advisor who mixes with celebs has been arrested on suspicion of modern-day slavery – The Mirror reports.

Conservative Party donor Enam Ali – who was awarded an MBE for his services to the hospitality sector – was arrested after a raid on his restaurant in Surrey.

‘Vindaloo visas’

In 2008 he was appointed to the Home Office advisory panel on the hospitality sector and later swayed former Prime Minister David Cameron to roll out an initiative dubbed ‘vindaloo visas’ to bring workers across from the Indian subcontinent to plug skills shortages in UK curry houses – The Mail on Sunday reported.
