For businesses today, there is no escaping digital transformation. A constant wave of technology is being rolled out in a bid to help organisations develop and strengthen internal processes.
While these technological developments may be welcomed by heads of departments, it’s crucial that employers give their workers a voice when it comes to using this technology and embarking on a digital transformation. Otherwise, it is likely to cause problems.
For example, new tech initiatives have failed in the past because employees weren’t involved in the process, according to Forbes. The problems that arose from a lack of employee input ranged from helping to design a solution to their problems or providing regular feedback on what’s working. All of this vital information can make a huge difference when it comes to rolling out new technology and getting it right.
By and large, it seems that employers are starting to take note of this. A 2018 survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP of more than 10,000 workers in a range of industries across the globe, revealed that 90% of C-Suite executives said they paid attention to employee needs when introducing new technology, shared Wall Street Journal. However, in contrast, the same survey found that only half of their workers agreed.
