Walmart staff claim they're monitored out of work

It’s no secret that your bosses are monitoring you; in fact most employees will discover that the right to monitor any communications via the company internet, view your screen at any time and even monitor your mobile phone if it’s connected to the company wifi, will be written into their contract.

Whilst it’s expected that professionals are monitored when in the office, employees of American retail store chain Walmart believe that the firm is monitoring their social media both in and outside of work.

Suspicions were raised when it was revealed that one worker was reportedly let go for posting potentially sensitive company information on an active Walmart-focused forum on Reddit, with more than 54,000 subscribers.

The information included, amongst other posts, internal company documents such as a dossier about new Walmart initiative called ‘Great workplace’ that is currently being tested in some stores.
