Boss sees employee pulling a sickie from TV footage

Ask any seasoned festival goer, and they’ll tell you that scoring tickets to Glastonbury Festival is like winning the lottery. However, real life doesn’t go on hold just because you simply ‘have’ to go and see Stormzy on the hallowed grounds of Worthy Farm.

So, what do the several thousand punters who couldn’t get out of work over the festival weekend do when their boss says no to their holiday requests? The answer for the more reckless amongst them may well be to simply pull a sickie and hope that the numerous cameras constantly pointed on the crowd don’t foil their plan.

Yet for one fan, now dubbed ‘Alex from Glasto’ his alleged skive was not only broadcasted to millions of homes via the BBC’s festival coverage but has also gone viral. The young rap sensation, whose real name is Alex Mann according to numerous reports, was plucked from the crowd by popular grime artist Dave to perform alongside him.

However, Mann’s glee may well have quickly turned to dread when the video of his performance posted by the BBC gained the attention of his alleged boss, who commented on a Facebook post which was later shared on Twitter: “This boy works for me and phoned in sick this weekend. Good luck to him Monday morning”.
