69% of UK employees say that they feel bored or disengaged with current workplace training content, according to new research published by City & Guilds Group.
Subsequently, City & Guilds Group business Kineo, who conducted the study is calling on employers to create more innovative and engaging content that improves employee experience.
The study surveying 500 employees and 100 employers in the UK found that just 13% of employees would rate their L&D opportunities over the last year as effective, while a fifth (21%) feel properly equipped to do their job to the highest possible standard. Group Director of Corporate Learning at City & Guilds Group, John Yates, commented:
“Even if budgets and strategy for learning and development are in place, businesses won’t see a real return on investment until training and learning are fully accessible to all."
