There are many ways hopeful jobseekers try to attract the attention of recruiters and hiring managers. For example, one plucky candidate sent a homemade cake along with a copy of his CV to an employer, while another built a CV entirely out of LEGO pieces in a bid to land a job.
However, Catie Duyn, an employee on Twitter’s consumer marketing team, decided to contact the hiring manager directly.
Social media job ads 'least trusted' by job hunters
Despite working within the marketing arm for Twitter, Duyn felt passionate about the company’s unique workplace culture and felt her skills and interests would be better suited to HR, reports Business Insider.
After keeping her thoughts to herself, Duyn decided to confide in an HR business partner, who told her that Jennifer Christie, Twitter's VP of People, would be visiting London later that month. She then encouraged Duyn to send Christie an email outlining her passion for HR.
