Almost three quarters of office workers (73%) want their employer to improve sustainability policies, according to new research.
And, a worry for HR departments, 24% would refuse a job offer at an organisation with historically poor sustainability records.
The research, carried out by video production firm TopLine Film, which polled 1,000 office workers, marks the United Nation’s 46th World Environment Day and highlights the importance of sustainable business practices - not only as a way of protecting the environment but also as a tool to attract and retain employees.
Jamie Field, Managing Director at TopLine Film, commented: “Establishing environmentally friendly practices in the workplace is simply good for business. Attracting and retaining employees is as good a motivation as any other to get your company thinking about sustainability.
