Jamie Oliver’s restaurant group entering administration, putting 1,000 people out of work, is a type of life-changing move that needs to be conducted with the “utmost sensitivity,” according to a business continuation expert.
Speaking to HR Grapevine Forbes Burton's Managing Director Rick Smith explained that for the Jamie Oliver Group, the reasons for the closure need to be “transparent”.
He said: “Administration is a stressful time for everyone, especially those who are about to lose their jobs and livelihoods. Everything needs to be conducted with the utmost sensitivity.”
He also added that when a firm goes into administration or closes, the employer needs to make themselves or the HR team available.
