Firm froze exec salaries to improve employee livelihoods

Executive pay has long been a topic of discussion among employees and employers, as bosses have come under scrutiny for their large pay packets.

For example, this year alone has seen Irn-Bru’s exec rake £420,000, while Disney’s Chief Executive Bob Iger gained a £50.5million bonus.

Despite this, a company has gone a step further in a bid to scrap executive pay. The CEO of healthcare services firm CareCentrix froze the salaries of 20 executives to help improve the lives of 500 employees.

Speaking to The Guardian, the company’s CEO John Driscoll shared that when he was appointed to the role five years ago, he had a complicated challenge on his hands as margins had declined and revenue had stalled.
