More than 100 ASOS workers have been hit by ‘payroll chaos’ - with some facing a shortfall in wages of hundreds of pounds - highlighting how poor payroll practise can hit employees hard.
The union GMB say that workers, employed through an agency, are reporting underpayments, overpayment deductions being taken back without being told and not being paid at all.
Speaking to the BBC, Deanne Ferugison, Regional Organiser at GMB, said that workers turned to the union after experiencing difficulties. She said:
"It's payroll chaos there and it's causing a lot of stress and anxiety with some people not able to pay their bills.”
