BBC nominated for HR award despite alleged pay discrimination

Despite an ongoing investigation into pay discrimination at the studio, the BBC has been nominated for an award for its ‘transformational’ HR strategy.

The nomination comes a month after the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) launched the investigation, reports The Telegraph.

The BBC entered itself into the leading transformation category at the HR Excellence Awards, much to the amazement of its female employees who have been at the centre of the pay discrimination claims.

Following the nomination, the EHRC revealed it had reason to suspect ‘that some women at the organisation have not received equal pay for equal work’.
