Diversity | Microsoft slammed for 'discriminatory hiring'

When recruiting for a new role, employers are encouraged to give all candidates – regardless of their gender or ethnicity – an equal opportunity to apply and proceed to the interview stage if they are deemed suitable for the role.

While this is a top consideration for most HR departments, it seems that one firm in particular has come under scrutiny over claims that their hiring process is discriminatory.

In an internal message board, numerous Microsoft employees have questioned the firm’s pro-diversity stance and have slammed the tech giant for ‘discriminatory hiring’ particularly against Asian and white men – the Daily Mail reports.

Two of the posts – which were written in the online forum created to help communication with the firm’s CEO Satya Nadella – were reportedly penned by a female programme manager, according to Quartz.
