HR practices revamped after sexual harassment claims

Microsoft has responded to the recent claims of sexual harassment and discrimination experience by members of staff, stating that the tech giant will now make changes to how its HR department works.

In a letter to employees, CEO Satya Nadella shared plans to overhaul how Microsoft’s HR department investigates workplace incidents, which will see the development of a new employee advocacy team, reported Quartz.

In the letter he said: “I’m disappointed to hear about any behaviour in our workplace that falls short of the diverse and inclusive culture we are striving to create. But I’m encouraged that people feel empowered to speak up and demand change. I want all of us to learn and act on this feedback.”

The changes will see new training offered to line managers, which will focus on leading diverse teams and how to reward inclusion on teams they lead.
