What is HR's top priority for 2019?

In recent years, the relevance of HR’s role at the heart of the corporate family tree has taken a centre stage in the eyes of management – and with good reason.

Vast swathes of research into the effects of employee wellness and corporate culture on productivity and the bottom-line evidences just how advantageous fully embracing progressive HR can be - so how has this shifted the priorities of HR directors?

New research from Reward Gateway has revealed that having HR tools that integrate into their current workplace technology is one of the key priorities for 89% of HRDs in 2019. The result is far from a revelation for many, as last year it was confirmed that HR professionals spend an average of 366.6 hours a year manually checking, responding and keeping up with HR applications and data.

However, a poll conducted earlier this year by MHR found that many HR departments in the UK are failing to properly utilise their data. The poll, which surveyed 500 businesses, found that 44% maintain no focus on HR analytics – technology that uses ‘people data’ to aide in business issues.
