For months, Tesla’s CEO and Co-Founder Elon Musk has stormed the news following a realm of questionable behavior; HR Grapevine recently reported on a job cuts email that Musk sent employees at 1am, a social media mishap that resulted in his immediate ousting as Chairman from the Board, and Tesla rolling out ‘first class healthcare’ in response to a stream of poor health and safety records. So, there isn’t much about Tesla that has missed the news radar.

But it seems that Musk took to his emails again on Wednesday to notify all employees about the company’s plans to shut many of its retail stores going forward – Business Insider reports.
The email sent to employees hoped to ‘clear things up’. The note explained that underperforming stores operating ‘somewhere in the middle’ would be monitored to see if there was a feasible way for the stores to stay afloat. But, if not Musk’s email made it clear that the stores will have to “prove their case” to remain open.
However, for employees working within stores with a ‘high visitation rate’ that generate hefty revenues, staff have been more or less assured that their jobs are not at risk.
