A recruitment agency has become the first in its region to recruit solely for female job-seekers.
The Sydney-based company known as Talent Gap has also been named the first agency to be given an anti-discrimination exemption from the New South Wales Government, following its plans to recruit for women, reported the Australian Financial Review.
Siobhan Savage, who founded the business in September 2018, launched Talent Gap in a bid to help companies in male-dominated industries such as construction, engineering and infrastructure, to hire the right female employees within senior roles.
Savage said: "The sole reason why the exemption exists for us is we want to be able to represent women. Men have had and have many other avenues through their networks. So, a lot of roles don't actually go to market because men get them through their networks.”
