Revolut, one of the fastest growing fintech startups in the UK, is running into serious problems. This Is Money reports that the online bank is facing a probe over money laundering controls, mounting scrutiny after details of a missing £70,000 payment, and the sudden resignation of Finance Chief Peter O'Higgins last week.
And now, staff and candidates are hitting back against the firm, criticizing the allegedly awful company culture and overtaxing tasks for potential new hires.
Speaking to Wired, an anonymous employee said had been told he would be given a budget to hire a team and autonomy to run the company branch in a European Country. He quickly discovered the budgets for staff were non-existent, and he experienced bullying by senior managers. He explained:
“When I joined [Revolut] there were seven Country Managers and only one was left a year later. Two were fired within seven weeks of joining.”
